My name is Rasha Zaid, and I am proud to be running for Windsor City Council, Ward 4.
For the past 26 years, Ward 4 has been more than the place I live, it has been my home. This community has shaped who I am through the people I’ve met, the relationships I’ve built, and the countless conversations that have strengthened my belief that real leadership begins with listening.
For 24 years, I have worked in management, where I learned the importance of accountability, problem-solving, teamwork, and making thoughtful decisions that put people first. Alongside my professional experience, I have always believed in giving back through volunteering, community involvement, and simply being present for those around me. Service has never been something I do, it is part of who I am. I often say my love language is acts of service because I believe caring for our community is one of the greatest ways we can show love for one another.
I am running because I believe Ward 4 deserves a representative who is accessible, compassionate, and committed to serving with honesty, integrity, and transparency. Also because it is time we see the change we desire in ward 4. Residents deserve to feel heard, respected, and included in the decisions that shape their neighbourhoods.
If elected, my focus will be on supporting our local businesses, strengthening neighbourhood safety and reducing crime, addressing homelessness through practical and compassionate solutions, and creating a direct line of communication between residents and City Hall so your concerns are heard and acted upon. I also believe every tax dollar should be spent responsibly, ethically, and transparently, ensuring public investments improve Windsor and deliver real value for the people who live here.
Ward 4 is one of Windsor’s most diverse communities, and I believe that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Our different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences enrich our neighbourhoods, and we are united by a shared desire for safe streets, thriving businesses, strong communities, and opportunities for everyone to succeed.
My commitment is simple: I will listen first, lead with integrity, communicate openly, and remain accessible long after election day. I am not running for a title, I am running to serve the community that has given me so much.
